HOUSE AND MEADOW
Our house is far (and high) from the hustle and bustle of the city. The rooms offer a view of the Czantoria range. Below you will see the Vistula, Ustroń, and with good conditions you can even see Saint Anne's Mountain.
It is enough to walk a bit behind the gate of our garden (or actually meadows) to find yourself on an exceptionally scenic hiking trail. A short walk (about 20 minutes) will take you to the Kubalonka Pass, where you can stop for lunch in the taverns or go further and enter the 32nd kilometer of the Main Beskid Trail. Kazimierz Sosnowski, leading from Ustroń, to Wołosate in the Bieszczady Mountains.
In winter, it is a great place for people who love sports (not only to practice but also to watch). Cross-country skiing routes with a biathlon shooting range licensed by the FIS are located just 1.5 km from Płonkówka. Reaching the ski jump Adam Małysz in Wisła-Malinka, it will take you about 40 minutes on foot.
Which way we go, sooner or later we will find ski slopes with sports equipment rentals and ski schools. Up to 10 km there are such centers as: Cieńków, Klepki, Nowa Osada, Siglany, Skolnity, Zagroń or Partecznik.
For those who prefer "sitting" tourism, we will help organize a sleigh ride and after returning, we will light a fire with sausages in front of the house. Mulled wine tastes best then :)
Spring in the mountains does not need to be advertised, probably everyone is waiting for it. We too ... We love that first spring breakfast outside. And although the mornings are still cold, the rays of spring sun, a blanket and a cup of cocoa allow you to enjoy the observation of birds moving into the nest boxes on our trees. In spring, Płonkówka is a great starting point for mountain hiking trails, bicycle trips and Nordic walking.
If you stay with us for a longer vacation, you will also not be bored (unless that is what you expect from your vacation :)) In summer, the Vistula offers tourists a lot of cultural events, the most important of which is Beskid Culture Week. If, however, you still feel like hiking, within a short walk you will find attractions such as: the historic church in Kubalonka, the Presidential Castle, the church in Stecówka, rebuilt after the fire, or the "Beczka" bar, known from the interwar period. And this is only a fraction of what the area offers.
In autumn it is a paradise for mushroom pickers. We start collecting the bunnies before we leave the gate of our yard, and in good weather, one basket for mushrooms is not enough.
However, it sometimes happens that the weather is not conducive to leaving the house. We have a way for it! Board games and puzzles are what we like the most and that's why we have a nice collection of them. We are happy to share them with our guests when it is too dark for mushrooms and too wet for walks.
No matter what season of the year you choose to visit us. We will always make every effort to ensure that you leave us refreshed, healthier, richer with wonderful memories and that you will plan another visit to the Old House of Płonkówka right after you enter your homes .
